Internships

AIESEC offers a variety of internships, and in Project Genesis we are focused in HIV/AIDS-related internships. As the disease itself affects not only the health of an individual but also impacts societal and economic factors, AIESEC internships reflect this range – from direct HIV education/prevention programs to entrepreneurial work and community development organizations.

General fields of AIESEC HIV/AIDS internships in which you can work directly to combat HIV/AIDS include (but not restricted to):

  • Education: high school HIV education; community engagement/outreach through carnivals, campaigns, festivals, seminars; awareness campaigns on the disease itself to reduce social stigma
  • NGO/Government Management: assist in daily operations, fundraising, and/or planning for NGOs and government organizations that have a focus in HIV/AIDS, either exclusively or as part of a bigger goal (e.g. poverty reduction)
  • Related issues: examples include working with orphans/street children affected by AIDS; helping locals build sustainable business plans for alternative methods of income; marketing work to help grassroot/small-business owners affected by AIDS
