How to Get Involved
Project Genesis is always welcoming students looking for an HIV/AIDS internship. However, formal recruitment is conducted three times a year – in January, May and September. Project Genesis follows the AIESEC model of a 5 step process.

1. Selection and Application
After attending an information session, you will submit an application form outlining your intent. Afterwards, you will go through a review process to assess your experiences and motivation for going on an AIESEC exchange. This is a physical process consisting of an assessment center, a selection review board interview and, if necessary, may include other steps such as a language test. The selection process aims to ensure that everyone participating in an AIESEC exchange is suitable and will have a positive experience while on exchange.
2. Preparation
This step consists of logistical preparation to ensure that you are legally and physically prepared to work in another country, AIESEC preparation to ensure that you understand the internship program, as well as country preparation to ensure that you have an understanding of the local culture. This stage sets Project Genesis apart from the general Global Internship Program as there will be Pre-Internship Workshops to enhance the HIV/AIDS learning experience.
3. Matching
You will be trained in, assisted with, and given access to the AIESEC online database of internship opportunities. Through this database, you will be matched to a suitable internship. Which internships are offered?
4. Integration
During the actual internship, AIESEC-ers from the host country will be there to provide you with logistical, cultural and social support. They will act as your immediate network of friends while you are on your internship!
5. Re-Integration
AIESEC UBC will be here to support you when you get back home. If you wish to continue your AIESEC experience, you can get involved at the UBC local chapter.
